Nice composition
Basic shot (focus and exposure) are good. I just wonder if a slight crop to reduce a little of the foreground would give the impression of greater depth to the scene.
But nothing really wrong with this version.
I was thinking of the same thing as I moved the image around but I think if the foreground is cropped off even just bit, then the whole shot would need a bit more sky...so in my mind, I'd leave it as is...
Thank you for the comments. I tried a bit of a crop and can see how it gives a different sense of depth. Always instructive to have other eyes comment on what I've spent too much time staring at!
Hi Andrew, I would also crop about half the foreground but not so much to add depth as to add breadth and make the scene wider. For some reason it feels cramped on the sides and the wider aspect ratio may alleviate that feeling and give room for growth.
I like the layers in this image and I could go either way in terms of a crop.
My first impression when viewing the image was a wish that your camera had been pointing down a tad more so you could have achieved better separation between the yellow flowers and the mid/background (so the yellow flowers would not infringe upon the background trees). This is pretty nit-picky suggestion and I think would have a small impact on the image presentation but something that I would be interested in hearing what you and others think about...
I'd crop some of that cloud out myself, the foreground is interesting that grey cloud isn't, but hey ho we're all different
Interesting comment given that at the time I was wishing I had a step ladder! Being unable to get a little more elevation, (I was on my toes) I instead chose to emphasize the yellow flowers in the foreground during processing. I should revisit for the fall colors and perhaps take a stool with me!
