The wind pays homage to Monet
A strong wind encouraged me to use ISO 3200 and a 1/4000th shutter speed to stop movement. The result surprised me by looking a bit like a deliberate attempt to mimic Monet. Lumix FZ1000:

That's a really nice effect Tom. I live the way the movement in the Lilies has caused that halo of water around the lily pads. Not sure about the comp though. That single lily at the bottom is out of place. Don't know what you could do about it though other than reshoot when one of the buds blossoms.

Thanks, John. I thought about using the healing brush and cloning, but my Photoshop skills may not be developed enough to do that credibly, so I said to heck with it and left the flower in the shot.

The results of the stopped action are very appealing, quite artistic. Even so, based on my experience of stopping the action of moving water, I'm confident that you didn't need to use such a fast shutter speed to stop it.

Tom, I think that's a great image. And (not intending to be confrontational John) your compositional instinct got it just right for me. It's nicely random but not jarring. I love the tone and mood of the work.

John...also not to go against you but 2 flowers will not make this shot. I love the effect you did here, Tom...very unusual, for me that is...

Re: The wind pays homage to Monet
Good result, Tom. I suspect it is the high ISO rather than the shutter speed that has produced the Monet effect.
