Man at The Wheel
One of my favorite Historical cities to visit North of Boston is Gloucester MA. I love to eat good seafood and tour the many fishing ports of the city. There is where you can find some of the best seafood in the MA. This Fishermen's memorial statue is one of solemn
reflection as well as one to remind me of the laborious and sometimes dangerous profession fishermen of the world have. C & C

Re: Man at The Wheel
I don't really go much on photos of other people's artwork (eg statues, sculptures etc), but this sunset capture does seem to enhance this memorial.

Re: Man at The Wheel
Nicely caught against the sunset with just enough detail in the shadows. Slight lean right to left perhaps?

Re: Man at The Wheel
Nina Marie, I agree with Binnur that the the sunset adds a lot to the image. I'm going to put something out there for you to consider in terms of a crop that I saw almost by accident as I expanded the image to take a closer look. When I opened the image in lightbox the foreground wasn't visible and I liked it! Try a 16:9 ratio with the water removed and the sense of a sailor looking out to sea is enhanced (for me anyways).
Along the lines of what Greg said, I have rarely had much success creating a great image of a statue...that doesn't stop me from trying once in a while though...

Re: Man at The Wheel
Has this image been cropped in any way? I was just thinking about having a fraction more sky at the top; which possibly seems a bit cramped at the moment. Lose a bit from the bottom and gain at the top, keeping the same size ratio?
Either way, a good shot.
