Something from Sunday Morning
Out for a drive this morning, and liked the look down this pathway. Problem is having a hard time getting the final look that I want and not sure how to get that look. I am wanting a blue cast to the dark trees, I think one of my problems maybe I should have used a tripod but did not have it in the car with me. That way I could have used a greater depth of field and longer exposure to gotten better detail in those tree trunks. Well I guess I will just have to keep working on some of the others images.

Allan, images like that rarely work...too cluttered, nothing grabs the eye.

Re: Something from Sunday Morning
Although clearly identifiable image it has an abstract quality, very dense growth that prevents the eyes from exploring further inward. Nice effort.

Nice colours, Allan. I think you have achieved an impressionistic affect.

Well...the combination of colours are lovely to say the least. It is a work of art...

I like the artsy look of it; rather like a painting. I think it is really good!

Like the image, lighting and PP. Think it would be better without those two angled branches, then the eye would focus better.

Re: Something from Sunday Morning
John it is those two angled branches that drew my eye to the shot if not for them it would look like any other shot. The main problems were I was not able to shoot slow enough, DOF was to shallow, had to rise ISO, had I had my tripod with me I would have been able to lower the ISO, increase the DOF, and shot at a slow shutter speed. That would have increased the detail in the pines allowing me to increase the brightness of the trunks then lowering that will a bluish cast on the pines and foreground that I saw in my mind. It's not bad but not what I saw in my mind before I took the shot.

The blue cast goes very well with the oranges and greens in the image, very nice effect
