Lovely water with the reflected colors.
Awww...this shot is so cool...
Thank you Dan, Izzie. I appreciate your responses.
Nicely captured.
It looks out of focus. Don't care though - reminds me of arts from the impressionist era.
I will be going here soon, any advice please
thanks all for looking, I know what you mean Ole, it was blowing a breeze a bit so all the leaves are blurred but the duck is sharp, honest
Jeremy, make sure you get all day there, you need to go around a few times in no set order - just wander. Dont restrict yourself to the birds, but do listen out for the geese, swans etc. you normally hear them before you see them fly over so can be ready to do a bit of BIF shooting.
I also spotted this - not a set up - this is how it was in the crook of a big willow outside the tropical house
check out the whats on and see if there is an evening floodlight feed etc - if so yes, thi stime of year all sorts are turning up bird wise and the weather will be a factor as well as its all outdoors really - or trapped in a hide if it buckets down
if you are birdwatching then yes but if only photography - mmm maybe/ maybe not if weather is not good, however, a circular route up to slimbridge - then if staying overnight - up to Gloucester the next morning and down toward Chepstow via Forest of Dean, loads to see / photograph there, then across the severn crossing ( take the old bridge from Chepstow and go up to the cliff top service area on left straight after the Bridge for photos of the 'new' bridge) and back down south would be a good weekend -

Very nice images Mark I would crop #1 below the two thin brown branches in order to emphasize the duck more, the top part of the image is a bit distracting.
Thanks Binnur, I contemplated that and it works well - I was trying to incorporate the leaves to show the source of the reflection, on reflection i think you are right
lovely water the reflected colors top your pic out of focus
I very much like that scene. I think the vertical composition is nice to include as much of the creek as you did.
