    Of the Mist

Took a five-day trip to the Niagara Peninsula earlier this month. My camera skills were more than a little rusty, as you will eventually see. Anyhoo, here is the first of the bunch, taken you know where. C&C welcome.

Nice capture, sometimes you get what you get. And what you get from the misty Falls is mist.

Thanks, John and Binnur. It is hard to wrest contrast out of this image, but I wonder if I couldn't do better with the back end of the boat. Or maybe it would spoil the effect. Am open to suggestions. This was processed in Aperture with the SEP plug-in, but I do have Photoshop CC.

I think it is nice as is Janis. I wouldn't add contrast at all since it might spoil the mood.

I think it would spoil it. Low contrast is just what this picture needs. I think it works well.

I agree: the low contrast portrays the mistiness. Increasing contrast would only diminish it. And the boat's name simply adds to the effect.

My thanks were delayed by a lack of Internet service this evening, rectified by a very nice young man who also helped me knock about $50 off my monthly cable bill. Yippee!

Thanks for the feedback, Binnur, Donald, Tony, Vaez, and Greg. I rather liked this one myself, so it is good to know it strikes a chord with others.

Funny you should say that. I was just now wondering how I might have got myself taken.
