    Autumn

Taken yesterday from across the water of Cootes Paradise : conditions overcast with very little sunlight . I used my Tokina wide angle to capture as much leaves as possible. I used selective brightening on the trees and a graduated filter in post processing to slightly reduce the brightness of the sky and water. C&C welcome.

Very nice colors and reflections Joe I think bringing out the details in the sky and adding some contrast to the image help for a better look. If you use PS , levels and curves make a good job for that.

    Re: Autumn

For me, Joe, this is an interesting scene but getting the tree on the right sharply focused seems to throw the distant trees out of focus. I think I would have missed out that tree; or shown more of it and just used the distant area as a background. If the headland on the left had been sharper and more dominant I think you would have created a better balance?

It is almost there but somehow I don't totally feel comfortable with the scene.

Thanks Binnur. I use Lightroom. I have not used PS which I assume is a lot more sophisticated than Lightroom?

Thanks Geoff F. Not sure how the tree on right is in focus. I thought I focussed on the distance and with a large aperture the tree should have been out of focus... Anyway, thanks for the input

    Re: Autumn

A pleasing image. I like the inclusion of the tree in the foreground. I also like the swans. One comment I might make is that panoramas tend to make the scene look more distant than it really appears ,or seems anyway, at the time. If you used a little magnification you might be able to capture the lake shore and trees in the distance in more detail and not so much of the blank sky and water, but not being experienced with panoramas myself feel free to discard this thought if it doesn't really work!

Joe, I don't have LR, but the beginning part of PS is ACR and ACR is the same as LR. If you add a 'medium contrast curve' to the whole image in LR , I think this will improve the sky and reflections in water, also the colors will become more vivid in the trees ,

It is also possible to make some local adjustments in LR too as it is possible in ACR. I think you have an adjustment brush to do it . I usually don't use the adjustment brush in ACR because I usually use 'layers' with selections in PS for my local adjustments. If you like using softwares, PS is fun really

I agree with Geoff. Miss the tree completely. Maybe also show more sky and less lake. Just a thought.
