These are more from the vaults that begged for me to start over.

Re: For the Family Album
Let me guess -- the first one are your parents. I like the way your dad head was positioned and it shows in the shadows just the right amount. It was a perfect pose. You could have directed your mother to have done the same. And that dog! is a Great Dane. I have only seen two in my lifetime so far...and they are the most placid dogs I have ever met!
I love the separation of the two girls from background of #2 -- I love this shot very much...
I would believe that the last ones are siblings. They look alike...I like the relaxed way your sister is posing here...the expression of her face is like saying, Don't Mess with Me! Errm...your brother at least seems to know how not to point the gun in the head of your sis..the way he is holding his gun, he's not ready to shoot. It is ready to be put away instead...
Just my thoughts...

Re: For the Family Album
really like the first two as they are,
#2 is two shots in one and is fab as one! break that 'rule' it really works but it can also be split into two great portraits so really good. Maybe a minor crop on the top to take off where the wood uprights have some - not sure of the technical term - but where they have some shapes on them (but thats just minor nit picking)
#3 - very interesting, a strong 'statement' shot of two people, well captured, the only thing I would have done would have been to darken down the light areas in the background.

Re: For the Family Album
Izzie, nope, nice try. What you said sounds really good!!!!!
This was actually a photo shoot for a good friend and her husband.(1) He actually does look like my dad, but is more in his 60's.
The "guy" in the black clothes is actually his daughter, and the other woman is her life partner. (3)
The adults are both legally the parents.

Re: For the Family Album
Hi, Jeremy,
Regarding the guns, these people asked for their picture to be that way, so that is how I photographed them.
I realize your statement is personal opinion, so I will not debate that issue with you.
