Its all about the Bike

I've just returned from a few weeks ambling around France, loads of photos and to start with Mont Ventoux...................Here I have tried to capture the vastness of the mountain but also to link it to the playground that it is. Thoughts as to whether I have succeeded appreciated.

1. Firstly a view from the top looking south into the valley

3. Looking north at sunset



4 - 6. Playground ??? ................maybe not for me !!

#6 is really creative and by far the best image for me. Consider eliminating the flare to the right of the tire.

I'm having trouble determining the subject in #2, #4 and #5.

no no no....I did think of doing the last 5-6 kms from our campsite but it was only a fleeting thought. It was a benign day the first time, two days later the mountain stood up to its name.

Thanks for the feedback - I really like no 6 too and was pleased to have seen the shot but felt that on its own it didn't make sense and needed context. But maybe I have not quite achieved it here ?

I agree that this particular photo of the bike requires displaying other photos of the scene to provide context. However, if you had rendered the bike in focus and everything else out of focus, it would have been an entirely different image that would have worked well on its own.

Nope, not me...I like #3 as well as #6 but I like #3 better between the two of them...brilliant capture that was.

About the 'Mont Ventoux' and bikes: it's the only spot I know where cyclists are known to get tickets ... for speeding.
