Nice day Sunday and made one more trip down to Wahkeena Nature Preserve to check one last time for DFlys.

With the October winds blowing best one I could get. With a hard freeze coming Saturday night this will be it.

At least it will probably be unaware of the impending frost. Good detail. I suppose it is the wind that is making it grip the stick so firmly.

That is the first thing I noticed too, Jim -- the dragon fly's grip on the stick...good capture...

Really nice to be able to see so clearly through the wings! Great capture, Jim!

Nice capture, Jim. Great details! If mine, I would consider eliminating the green stains in the background, as they draw some of the viewer's attention.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

Thanks all for the comments and feedback.

Not a PP expert and would like some input on what would be the best way to eliminate the green stains. I use Zoner.

    Thanks.

Because the background has a very distinctive background, using the clone tool would be obvious. If Zoner supports color change, just change the color to one of the nearby browns.

Thanks Frank, will give it a go. Seems like anytime I use the clone tool you can tell I used the clone tool.

Have not tried the color change.

Hello Jim: I also vote for reducing the green splotch in the background. I very much like the composition here and you have managed to capture the delicate lacy pattern in the wings perfectly.

Jim, that is true. Trick here is patience and tries. Sometimes we ruin the background, so give it some CTRL + Z () and try again. After some time we get the hang of it. Below is just a quick edit that I tried. The image is already quite reduced in size for a good edit, but it gives an idea of the background without the green. If you dont like people editing your images, just let me know and I will promptly remove it, ok?

    Regards,
Thanks for taking the time to edit and it does improve the image.

Going to look around the internet and see I can find some hints.

    Again thanks.
