Great one Brian As far as I remember , you posted it before when it was only a blossom. It is nice to see it in full shape. Beautiful color.

Beautiful bloom. Do the flowers keep blossoming all year where you live? I have spotted the little bug on top of his mansion! Some might suggest you crop out the stem along the right side, unless you wanted to include it because it belongs to the plant that is flowering. Just a suggestion.

yes I did! The life cycle for this plant is near a year long so there are many chances to get an interesting shot. It is one of the nicest reds in the garden.

Yes they do with the added bonus of a very long life cycle (close to 1 year) for each bloom. I tried to eliminate the stem on the right but I found I missed the framing effect.

It is one of those plants that many consider a weed but I agree it is great having them in the yard. And though I have not eaten it yet there are many recipes for the blossoms, roots and stems.

So does the root looks and taste like real ginger? The waxy petals and the bonus little ant at the top contributes well to this shot.

look a little closer and you will see that it is a tiny oranagy flying beasty. I will have to cook it before I can answer your questions about taste.

    Hi Brian!

I really like this shot. But I’m having some personal conflict (which has nothing to do with you).

I don’t usually put much stock in the titles of threads on this Forum. I title my threads rather erratically sometimes.

So when I opened the thread and saw the bloom I really liked it. Then after revisiting it I realized, from the title, I was missing something. I then had to struggle with the age-old question: “is this an insect shot on a flower or is it a flower shot with an insect on it?”

It doesn’t work for me if it is an insect on a flower. But it rocks as a flower shot with an insect on it!

    Go figure!

It gave me a headache so I’m just going to enjoy the shot and forget about all the philosophical crappola!

I will let you in on a little known fact. I took a flower shot. I did not even see the insect until I put the shot up on the computer screen.
