Rosie - Then, and now
Rosie, my Labrador Retreiver at barely two months on her first day with us.
And today on the beach, doing well, if a little grey in spots (like me), in her twelfth year. She still thinks she's a puppy.

Re: Rosie - Then, and now
Rosie was an awfully cute puppy. That's nice that you have enjoyed her for 12 years. By the way, the first strikes me as a fine looking photograph for a 12 year old camera. What camera did you use?

Hi Neville, yes she looks fine and she was so cute when she was a baby. I wish you and Rosie happy years together as I have been living with a golden for 15 years

Re: Rosie - Then, and now
Thanks for that Nick. Hopefully there's lots of life in Rosie yet. The camera for the first shot was an Olympus Camedia E-10. The model was introduced by Olympus in 2000 and was I believe their first serious attempt at a professional grade digital. Four megapixel (actually slightly less), fixed zoom lens 35 to 140 equivalent with options to buy tele, wide and macro extenders. It had a prism type optical through the lens viewfinder using a beam splitter, so no moving mirror. It was very heavy on batteries and image quality was very noisy above minimum iso. It was my first digital and I got great value out of it. See DPReview's take on it at http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympuse10/.
The second photo taken this morning on the beach was with my Nikon Df and Nikkor 85mm f1.8 D.
Interest to compare the two I suppose. The Olympus with very primative digital technology trying to move into the future while the Nikon Df with all its high tech is looking backwards to an earlier age.

Many thanks John and Binnur for your kind comments. I'm really delighted, Binnur, that your golden lab is going strong after 15 years. They are very smart dogs and they seem to continually learn new ways to get the best out of us as they get older.

Doggies are my favourite...they can get you with their eyes or the sound of their tail on the floor as you approach. Rosie is so cute as a baby...You and Binnur are so lucky you got long lives for your doggies...
