    Nice subject, Jim, but the background is too busy for my taste. I think this kind of shot needs a plain background, or one that is very blurred at least.

    I agree with Greg, I like the subject and composition but with a dark background it would really stand out. You gotta work with what you get though. Overall a nice image.

    I agree with above posts. Good spotting a small pretty thing as that. I think the white balance (WB) is a bit off on this one. I don't know if you set a wb setting in camera or not, but if you let the camera choose automatically it usually seems to be off. Either way, I usually want to adjust it after shooting in the editor.

    I do not know what it is called but the background sort of mixed with the colour of the weed while the stem sort of imitate the colour of that side of the background...Is the weed really purple-ish? Just asking...composition is excellent and the shot is simplistic, really nice if you just pluck out that weed and chose a different background for it...sorry...
