The biggest herd of buffalo I've ever seen. This is about 1/2 in total. We estimated about 800 in all.

Nice series, where were you shooting from, a blind, vehicle, etc.?

Shooting mainly from a vehicle but also spent about 4 days on and off in various hides (blinds).

Wow it's just amazing how much wildlife you found and were able to photograph well. These images are of fine quality too, sharp etc. I really liked the large herd of buffalo, great upper POV on that one. Did you position yourself and wait? The mongooses are cute too, I would think those critters might be hard to catch. The Varvet monkey, well as scary as monkeys can be, that's a great shot.

What camera and lens were you using most of the time? I inquired about this in an earlier thread, but perhaps you didn't see it, but not trying to be demanding

Buffalo herd was an interesting shot. We visited a view site overlooking the dam at Mlondozi. During that time we saw elepjant, crocs, hippos, lion drinking and vultures on a kill. When we left we came to a road about a mile away where we encountered the buffalo on their way to the water. We went back to the dam where we watched the whole scene unfold. It took more than an hour for the herd to cross the road.

Aside from the superior images, I am impressed with the PP...how/what do you use?

CS6 with a few Nik plugins. I used to do all the layering manually with adjustment layers, but I've got lazy now and I just use Nik. Except for landscapes where I still do a lot of manual pixel adjustment.

All of these are GREAT, Mark. I would absolutely love to go on one of these kind of photo shoots. I have to chuckle every time I see a Zebra. When I was a kid, every time my grandfather saw a Zebra on one of the nature shows we used to watch together, he used to call them a "sport model jackass". That has stuck with me for almost my entire life.
