First of all an apology, in one of my recent posts (Link) I hinted at another bus trip in North Yorkshire, unfortunately that trip has had to be saved for another time.
I decided to go down to London to see the installation containing 888,246 poppies. The individual poppies represents each British and Commonwealth death during WW1. Having seen and read in/on the media regarding the numbers of visitors the installation was getting I decided on a night time visit for photography purposes. All images were either hand held or taken using some form of support (top of a wall etc.) as given the number of visitors I didn't think I would be able to use/carry a tripod around.
Instead of a trip around North Yorkshire fasten your seat belts for a whistle stop trip around London, enjoy.
#1, St Paul's from the South Bank
#2 St Paul's from the Millennium Bridge, AKA The Bouncing Bridge which; isn't an easy place to try to get sharp images from.
#3, Peters Hill looking towards St. Paul's. The scaffold at the end of the hill is the rear of some grandstand seating put in place for the Lord Mayors show.
#4 London's "Tower Bridge" and a streaking river boat ;-)
#5 Poppies between the Tower and the Thames, including a view of The Shard.
#6 I believe that this part of the display (the stream from the window) is to remain in situ beyond Armistice Day.
#7 A two image panorama from the same viewpoint as #6 above.
