Another sunrise in the duck blind

While all the "Monday morning crowd" was either sleeping or getting ready to go to work, this is the view that I had. Although it wasn't a very productive day for hunting ducks, watching this scene slowly come to life couldn't be all that bad of a day.

I like the way you look at life, Brian...Looking out at nature from that duck blind resembles a prayer for you.

Thank you Izzie. I do kind of consider the duck blind (or fishing boat chair) as a church pugh. Getting out into nature and just seeing the beauty of it is what "does it" for me. There is nowhere else that I feel more relaxed and at peace than seeing exactly what I captured above, whether it's hunting, fishing or just being at the right place at the right time in the outdoors. Sounds kind of corny but, that's how I'm wired, I guess.

Great shots. How is the actual hunting? Started back this year after a 12 year absence. Weather is just getting cold.

Nice shots Brian, and a nice start to any day.

However, it confirms a growing suspicion I have that the people that place blinds (hides in UK parlance) on reserves always do so looking into the sun

This means the ducks have great light on you, even through the slit/window, so they sit further away and also that your camera or binoculars are flare covered (and the subjects are backlit).

My theory is this is done deliberately in order to sell more higher quality (anti-reflective coated) binoculars and longer, hugely expensive, lenses.

    Or is it just me?

Nice shots indeed! Speaking of the golden hour light, are you referring to sunrise or sunset Dave?
