Re: Slight contrast boost!
Hi Carol,
I hope you don't mind, but for this "Slight contrast boost!" I have added the new thread you started to the original series, otherwise people like me go nuts wondering why replies they wrote for an image (in one thread) are not visible below the same picture - which is of course, actually in a different thread!
I did the same tidy up with the "Larger image" for the "White blossom reflecting" thread.
It's my sanity (amongst others) we're helping - and believe me, every little helps
Cheers,

Sanity? You are talking about sanity? While you are browsing about, grab mine, if you spot it. I lost it some time ago. The proof of that is that I went back to working for myself at 69yo.

Re: Slight contrast boost!
For me, the problem is not so much the contrast but that the foreground petal in particular is so heavily saturated the is no detail or shape left in it. I have tried to get back a bit by by boosting what little there is in the green and blending it back into the image on a luminosity layer. It worked, sort of, and I thought folk might like to comment. I can't remember the steps exactly but essentially it was curving a copy of the green to enhance detail, blending it back into the composite channel on a luminosity layer and masking the areas which needed to be protected. I think there was another blend somewhere but I can't remember. Anyway, here it is, I hope I loads OK:
