Camels - Pushkar, India

Pushkar is one of the Hindu holy sites, and as timing would have it, the largest camel fair in India was underway.

Who could resist a camel ride... This image was captured during the afternoon golden hour, after we had gotten off the camels after a two-hour ride. The saddles were removed and some of the camels decided to have a nice sand bath, after getting rid of the riders...

Hi Manfred: I love all the gold tones. The camel's necklaces (?) are the perfect dollop of colour. The smiling faces are a bonus. This is such an interesting image because it is so unusual.

Never seen a smiling camel at all (in person). So they are like dogs too...love wallowing in the dirt ... at least mine does, even if they are not camels...Very nice capture, Manfred...
