It does.
It seems to be the standard aspect ratio, have you considered lopping a bit off each side?
Either to put it 'in the centre' of the reduced frame, or perhaps, with a small anti-clockwise twist, having the lower two petals 'point' in to the corners.

It does as a design or pattern;although it is easily recognizable as a flower.
It definitely works as a monochrome version. Consider brightening the bright tones in various areas of the flower to provide a bit more interest. I also agree that there is too much negative space (too much because it doesn't add anything to the image).
I played with this to see if it had the impact of my recent stuff...I'm thinking the pale blues and
yellows don't convert that well unless I'm missing something.![]()
I like it. Wonder what a tad more contrast would do for it?
Hmmm...I like this bikini clad lady very much...I like her hat too...
It's verging on high key but ah'm assuming that it's already been PP'd in the original colours? Two good exercises would have been -
a) For high key, imagining the photo in b+w as it was taken and using in-camera aids tae adjust the dark tones and mid-tones upwards.
b) No PP before conversion and trying different types of conversion, as some types suit individual photos more than others.![]()
Boab, FWIW, I shoot these flowers while tethered and ETTR using the RGB histogram.
When I shoot against a really light background and use reflected room light, usually some degree
of underexposure is necessary, as in this case.
Will try your suggestions on the next go-arounds though...thanks.![]()
