I like the uplifting feeling the image conveys not just in the perspective you chose but also the tones in the sky. This works very well for me. Consider copping to eliminate about half of the negative space on the left.

Nicely captured, has a 3-D effect.

Yes, looking good. Maybe a very slight crop from left and bottom, or just the bottom; so it isn't quite so 'vertically centred'?

But should the stem be on the left or right?

Ah like the composition as is. Any cropping would make the photo look pinched/cramped...

I find the grays a little too uniform (outside of the stem). I wonder if you could add some brightness to the slightly brighter areas of background--like a cloud. I might have reversed the tones with the flowers lighter. In fact, I did do an orchid image that is somewhat similar--I thought of it when I saw yours. You can find it here:

Hate to say it, William -- but after seeing Larry's version, I like his better than yours. I think what yours lack is a bit of punch on the composition...but what do I know? Nothing much..really...

Sorry William, I don't think the mono conversion adds anything over the colour version in fact the colour image is very nice and I prefer it.
