Is that ice buildup in the first and second image?
Lots of open country there. Looks like you've got plenty of good hikes ahead of you.
Very nice, #3 in particular, tremendous work.
Considering these and other views of where you live, I still think I should work harder at making you my new best friend.Very nice compositions!
Check out the bright line where the land meets the sky in the second and third images; it's almost surely the result of your post-processing and I don't think it's a sharpening halo.
walked most of them - they are fun - its inspiring in any weather but if you can get up there with a serious hoar frost on the scrub its fantastic both to enjoy and to photograph, its great to see a sandstone slab stick out at the top of a high hill and see wave marks from when it was under a sea!
edit - and i should add - nice set- for me #2 is the one that makes me want to be there so pulls me back each time I look at them

Each a good image in its own right. But, for me, the strength is in the set. Picking a theme for PP style/technique and sticking to it makes for a strong set of images that fit well together.
Very nice series Matt![]()
Hi, Matt. You do live in a beautiful place! After accepting Mike's request (he requested it first!), please accept ME as a best friend too!
I just love #2. Composition and sky colours, combined with the road lines, make it a strong image, IMHO.
Cheers,
Binnur, Otavio, thanks for your comments.
And of course Otavio, I should mention Rio is on my travel plan... at this rate maybe I should open a hotel?

Matt...all nice images. I can't really choose a favourite amongst them...I thought I like #1 but when I saw the rest of them, it is just difficult to choose any one...or even just one...![]()
Wonderful set Matt, well done mate!
Matt excellent series, I've spent many a day on the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountians , in a previous life, they are stunning![]()
David, Gerry thank you for the comments.
I know those hills well and you have certainly created great images of them - you've got all the elements spot on (including those menacing clouds and a that bit of blue sky Wales is perhaps not so famous for !!)
