Nice composition on the shots, however I have never seen magenta shaded horses before. I do not know if that colour is coming up on other's monitors or not.
Cheers: Allan
Yes I noticed a bit of red tinting but assumed it was late afternoon light. The greens seem about right.
Hi Matt,
Following from Allan and Geoff's comments:
I think it is over saturated and there is an Auto White Balance error (it wasn't adjusted in LR), due to the predominantly green and brown colours in the scene. That said, the EXIF also shows a lot of fiddling has occurred to hues, saturations and luminance levels and the vibrance was increased.
I'd suggest starting over (clear all those adjustments) and, since there's really nothing reliable to sample off and it looks like it was shot in overcast, try the preset for cloudy and see if that looks better. Or just try moving the tint further towards green. Or dial down the magenta in the shadows.
HTH, Dave
They're much better now Matt, well done
Agree - nice set...
The edits look better on my monitor.
Cool looking horses.
Very nice series Matt
Looks better, Matt...the first one was WoW! Purple horses??? The edit is so much better even though both horses looks wet.
The second edit looks much better. I think it is often recommended to check WB as one of the first steps in PP. It can also affect apparent saturation. Have you also raised mid-tone contrast on these?
I like those ponies. They look something like one of the Dales, Fell, or Exmoor breeds, but I don't know if they are or not.
