    How's My Tongue Look?

Shot at midday (cause I was bored out of my skull) hence the harsh light.

I seem to be finding one almost every morning I access CiC but this shot makes me smile...Your title seemed to have a questionable response from the pelican at the right...I can't help but noticed the way s/he looks at the other one at the left. S/he at the point of telling off the other one. Very nice moment capture. Anyway, now I know how stunted a pelican will look like without the long neck...

Thanks for commenting, John, Binnur, Jim and Izzie.

I love pelicans and they can be quite entertaining to watch. It was the eye contact between those two that prompted me to process it.

Here's another just for a giggle. This is what can happen when they raise that huge beak into the wind.

'Wonder why it does that? Dogs like their face in the wind too...maybe something to say about most animals...

What harsh light? To me it looks almost perfect.

Dave and Haseeb, thanks for viewing and commenting. The midday sun has cast very dark shadow directly under the bird on the left, and you can see the shadow of the upper part of his beak lying along the line of his lower beak. If the light doesn't seem particularly harsh, then that is more a triumph of processing than anything else.

Izzie, no-one seems to know why they stretch their beaks but when they do, they provide some interesting poses.
