    Lotus Temple

Now that we are nearing the end of our trip, I've started to review the images I've taken. This one, the of the Bahai House of Worship, known locally as the "Lotus Temple" because it was designed to look like a lotus flower was taken in the middle of the day on a bright sunny day. Instead of fighting the harsh shadows, I tried to use them as a compositional element and the result is interesting, I think.

That works for me. The shadows add interest to the geometry.

This seems to have something in common with the Sydney Opera House.

Any reason why you clipped the petals at the sides of the frame, Manfred?

Simple, I step any further back (I was right against a railing that was between me and a very steep drop) and my lens was as wide as it could go.

    Very nice shot, Manfred...

Tony, the Sydney Opera House structure was about an orange peel...totally different than this one above.
