    Great shot! Nice dof, sharpness, beautiful subject. only thought is that the bud could have been centered a bit more.

    It is an interesting choice of crop. I think it works: the bud is ready to explode out of the frame: a very nice image.

    Hi Rick,

    An interesting comment, which I hadn't thought of before for this shot, but I know what you mean; if shooting say, a butterfly with "wings up", even in a PP crop, I prefer to leave room for the wings still to be fully in shot should the little critter suddenly open them out flat (impossible!) - just so it doesn't look too 'constricted'.

    That's good, as I can appreciate how tricky it is to get this looking as uniformly sharp as you have it, especially handheld.
