    NEF Viewer for Android?

Is anyone using any android apps that can open/view/delete NEF files? I'm working on a way to travel in future without lugging a laptop around. I have a Galaxy Tab S and would like to really put it to work. Don't care about editing. I'd just like to be able to view files to see what I have at the end of a day of shooting and to delete the obvious culls. And let me go ahead and head off some of the innevitable feedback. Yes I'm aware that shooting RAW+jpeg would make virtually any photo viewing app capable of doing this....

Dan I use Adobe Photoshop Express on my ipad but there is an Android version available. It handles my NEF files and I'm pretty sure it actually works on the raw data, not the embedded jpeg. And believe it or not, it's free !

I downloaded that one already and from what I can gather you have to have the photos somewhere in the clouds to find/open them. Unless I'm missing something.

That's not the case for the iPad version which allows you to access the normal photo folders on the device. I can't speak for the Android version but I think it might warrant further investigation. I know you said you don't want to edit but I've found it useful to do some simple tweaking on the go to evaluate the potential of the image.

Dan a couple of others worth looking at are PhotoMate and RawDroid. I have used an early version of PhotoMate without raw capability but there is now a more advanced version that supports raw.

Thanks, Dave. I'll check out the two you mentioned. I'll also see if I missed something but when I first downloaded it.

How do you get the files on your tablet? Have tried reading from a mem card, bit got the message that the filesystem was not readable..,

Ah !!! I was just looking for a OTG memory card reader to connect to my mobile. Let me know if this works. Which camera do you have by the way? Mine is Nikon D5200?

What Android version are you running? With 4.4 Kit Kat, Google introduced some strange restrictions on access to storage locations - make sure you are using MyFiles to copy stuff around.

This is probably not exactly what you were looking for, but just because I happened to be thinking about these today, there are portable hard drives to which you can transfer files from your SD card and they have a viewer screen for the purpose of reviewing your shoot and off-loading your images on the spot. Maybe you've heard about those.
