I took this shot at the Paro Dzong courtyard. The monks are in the traditional dress (for Bhutanese monks) and the man and boy are wearing the national dress of Bhutanm called a gho. The white scarf the man is wearing is the Bhutanese equivilent of a tie that men would wear in western countries.

That's because they don't think that they are economically deprived.

They are into "Gross National Happiness" as a measure as to how well the country is doing, rather than GNP - Gross National Product. I kind of think they may be onto something...
