    Thanksgiving Day AM and PM

Scenes from home on Thanksgiving day. It was unusual that the valley stayed foggy all day. Typically it clears in the afternoon. Not the best photos ever shot. Just sharing...

Sunrise view of Denali/Mt.McKinley. Shot through 150 miles of haze. Back to the sunrise.

Nearing sunset over Turnagain Arm. The hazy sun was just out of frame to the right.

Beautiful scenes. It looks like the whole valley is full of clouds. What a great view you had from above them, it looks like you probably couldn't have seen much from down in them.

I really love the second shot, Dan. I love the lines in it. And the color is unusual and beautiful!

Thanks for the comments, folks. It was a lovely day though a bit cool. But really just cold enough to get the blood moving. We were out walking off a bit of our holiday meal at the time of the second shot. When we got home I grabbed the camera and stepped back out the door to grab a shot. There is frequently interesting fog/clouds in that direction. The waters of Turnagain Arm lie beneath the fog. Many people misspell it as "Turnagin". But it is in fact Turnagain as in "turn again". It was named by Captain Cook. It is a fairly large body of water with tides second only to the Bay of Fundy. They thought for sure they had finally found the fabled Northwest Passage. But when they reached the end of the arm they were sadly disappointed because they had to "turn again" and head back out to sea. So Cook named it Turnagain Arm.

Donald, I nearly made a B/W conversion out of it. Nearly... I couldn't bring myself to abandon the nice sun glow colors.

From the title, I thought we were going to be treated with a kitchen scene followed by a
group scene at the dinner table...oh well.

The second shot is particularly good Dan. The recession gives it so much depth.

I like #2 a lot...nice backyard you have over there.

William -- if Dan made true to his title, we will be treated with repeats of Lunch 1 into the Dinner of the same...turkey makes me sleepy....
