    Stupas

This shot of some stupas outside the Tibetan monastery in Mongar, Bhutan was taken in the late afternoon, as the sun was starting to get lower.

Nicely done Manfred great sense of perspective, I look and just wonder what it would look like if the image was flipped

Sure - Flipping is easy... I assume you meant my first attempt at flipping, not the second one...

That is a very fine image. It tells us so much about the country. We have the stupas but we also have a landscape. Wonderfully composed to capture an appealing image that has so much of a story to tell about a place.

What a beautiful image Manfred. I noticed that there appears to be at least three different designs on the stupa which aroused my curiosity. A quick Google search led me to the ever so accurate Wikipedia ( ) and I find it interesting that each design represents a stage in the Buddhas life.

I can easily identify Nirvana, Enlightenment and Reconciliation and suspect that since there are eight in your image that all the stages are represented in the group.

Thanks for a lovely image and for the nudge to go learn something new today Manfred
