Probably my last one
Had Home Depot not had them for $5 per pot, you wouldn't be commenting on this one...
I am growing weary of them. It was fun for a while, gotta move on to something else.

Boring or not, it's very well done. At least you've become proficient with them.

There should be a SPCF - Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Flowers.
Heartless - especially after they have treated you so well......
Excellent shot. Love how they pop off the black b/g.

Re: Probably my last one
Now that has to be the best one to date for me William.
It looks natural, good composition and detail in the petals. Just a few areas of red to clean up on the outer edges of the stems.

Maybe I'll just take the same plant and work more with the positioning and lighting...and stacking.

It is easy to grow these kinds of orchids after photographing them, William. A soak with a bloom booster usually makes the flowers last a few more bits than usual...As for your shot here, I find that you may have a little bit of red cast in the petals. Very nice though. I like the exposure here.

Re: Probably my last one
William PM-ed me about the orchid booster that I use but I can't find tinypics in the PM to upload the shot, so here it is. Sorry about the reflection but I shot this here in my desk with only the overhead lamp extension as I found I have to tidy up my studio after turning it into a Christmas gift room for the time being...
1. This is my regular orchid food for when the orchid stop blooming....
2. And this is the orchid booster for when it is flowering...
OK the first shot is over done...so this is not for C&C just for info. I soak my orchids for 15 or 30 minutes each in the solution (run a timer...) and the blooms last for months at a time!!! No direct harsh sunlight.

Beautiful! Detail, sharpness and great separation of subject from the background.
