These donated bells decorated a section of the wall at the Kamakhya Temple, in Guwahati, Assam, India. The tone of the brass and the colour of the wall just complemented each other quite beautifully.

I believe they do add them. We couldn't get the story other than the ringing of bells helps in meditation and karma.
