    Hi John,

Beautiful capture of a beautiful woman and the moment. However, something seems odd with her skin. Too, much post processing?

    Hi Christina,

Thanks for the comments and critique. I had to do a some noise reduction and touched up some acne and tried a different sharpening technique, used hpf.

Though she is a beautiful girl, I am bothered by her lips...showing very little of her front teeth underneath makes her lips uneven...don't you think? Just a thought...removing deep pores and acnes and freckles are worst. Your edit makes it better.

    Hi Izzie,

Thanks for the comments and critique. She had a habit of making strange facial expressions, I think I managed to capture every one of them.

John - Beautiful girl and nicely photographed. I can't say I'm a fan of the plastic looking, Barbie doll skin that comes from the high pass filter approach for skin softening. She just does not look real retouched in this way, I almost wonder if the original, with all the blemishes might not look better. I find that the eyes look dead and dull as well. The high pass filter really kills the texture on the lips as well. You might want to see if you can mask it out over those areas to give those parts of the image a bit more life.

I find that when retouching skin, a gentle touch usually ends up giving you a better looking image. I find I stick to spot healing and gentle burning and dodging tends to work better, but it does take longer to do.
