The image is very nice as it is , IMO a square crop would create another nice image

Thanks Binnur... I wanted to use the texture of the water to create a negative space that would give more breathing space to the frame.

Very nice image. I can definitely see the advantages to cropping it this way to make use of negative space, which tends to lead my eye down to the bathers.

However, I could also see many other variations of that crop being pleasing, including square as Binnur stated...

Thanks Richard for your thoughts... i fully agree that there could be different crops. Here's how a square crop looks.

IMO you still have some negative space in the crop version and it looks very nice too

The edit that Binnur suggested seems to work too, Ashish...I like it better. Funny the things you do when you are young, once one comes of age, it becomes a sort of just stories that starts with "When I was young" or "when we were young"... pretty much similar to the fairy tale start of "Once Upon A Time..." Pictures like this one is reality now with memories for later telling...

Taken from a good perspective Ashish.

My preference here is for the 1st image, I feel the square crop cramps it somewhat. I wonder if it also to do with the centre of the subject/s being more on the 1/3rds?

Thanks Izzie... Maybe we should start doing stuff like this again to rekindle that lost spirit and enjoy the simple things in life.

Thanks Grahame.. it's a very subjective art and people have different perspectives. I guess that's what makes this art so interesting as you get more inputs and many a time those inputs make your picture much better than you perceived it to be.
