    Geese in Gray (B&W)

I was going for BIF shots, but when I caught up to the geese they were in break mode, preening their feathers, sleeping, and standing on one foot. It was raining/ sprinkling, thus the softness. I don't usually like B&W, but there was very little color in this shot, and that I couldn't get to look right, so I actually think I like it better in B&W. I wanted a slightly silvery blue look, but I am no expert at B&W conversions.

    Thanks John, and Jeremy,
Here I've added tone curve to give it a little more contrast.

IMO edited version looks better You might try a cyanotype effect for the silvery blue look.

Thanks Binnur. I think I did try the Lightroom preset Cyanotype, but it was too much for my taste. Right now it looks very very slightly blue, at least on my monitor, but I think I might need to enhance the blue in it a little more for it to show.

Edit is better. Could be further improved by keep the top background from getting the contrast fix (ie contrast only the geese).

Have you tried the Hue and Saturation option for your image? I just tried it on one of my shots and if you pull the saturation to the furthest side (LHS) fully then the shot loses its colour and leaves just B/W. But if you only do it slightly then adjust the Hue slider to the right then you get a different tint you might like...just a thought...

Thanks Izzie, and Bobo,Thanks for the good suggestions. After seeing your suggestions, I went back and played with them, and a few other things, such as color balance, and curves while I was at it. I came up with this version. Still not sure if it's just right, but got to be content with it some time

I like this one...a bit bluish as you like to achieve in the first place. And it makes the mood too with the colouring...misty and cold.
