I suspect the result suggests you are pleased with the new camera Jim.

Re: Rainy Day Doe
Good one! Great focus (including DOF) and detail here. I also think the colorful BG is nice, though it would be more typically wanted in digital photography to have a more blurred BG, but that doesn't have to be the look you prefer. I notice that the BG is smooth in most areas, but I see a little fuzziness along some of the edges of sticks and things which looks like sharpening effects to me. Just trying to make some helpful critique!
Update: UPDATE: I think what I was seeing actually might have been affects of a low quality setting for the JPEG when saved. It might not be there if you saved it at 100%.

Yes great detail in this shot Jim, nice work. If you wanted to get keen, you could carefully make a selection of the background (ie everything except the doe) and make it less bright. This would make the doe more prominent.

Hmmm...beautiful shot Jim...I like the pose and the sharpness of each and every fur on this one. My only nit is that the twig cutting him from the background be eliminated to concentrate more on the deer ...

Nice image Jim.
I guess I haven't been paying attention, what kind of camera did you get?
