I might suggest that in lieu of a tripod, you might support your camera on a railing or some other structure using a "bean bag" which can be purchased commercially or simply made from the leg of an old pair of trousers (blue jeans are great) cut and sewn at each end after being filled with beans, rice or Styrofoam packing popcorn...
and it shows, sorry
However shows willingness and is not bad at all
Perhaps if you explained your reasons for the experiment...I post numerous images that were takenthis is my first long exposure shot ,WITHOUT a tripod.
"just to see if I could do it" but, I only post the ones that work out reasonably well.
I can think of only two reasons you would attempt long exposure photography without a tripod.
1. You forgot to bring it and there is no wall/railing/bean bag but you take the shot anyway knowing it's not going to be your best.
2. You move the camera deliberately during the exposure for abstract effect/motion blur which can be really effective.
This is an example of the second case (with flash). There is nothing I'd care to share for the first case (which kind of proves my point )
Shuja...a nice warm welcome to you from all of us. You can use the "Click Here to Upload Photos from your Computer" option if you go to Go Advanced from the Quick Reply button at the bottom of the screen. Then it will load in Tinypics for all of us to see a better bigger version of your photo instead of a small thumbnail.
Shuja,
Nice effort, how long have you been shooting?
Very nice , even if it was shot without a tripod
