    Late Afternoon Sun C&C Welcomed

I took this a couple of weeks ago, it was a bit of a cut leading into the scrub. It was late afternoon and the sun was low in the sky but was lighting up the opening in the background. I kind of like it but not sure if the scene translates well into a photo; it had a sense of peace and tranquility about it. It does appear better in lightbox (if that matters).

If I have to choose, Jack -- I'd prefer looking at it without the lytebox...you can feel the whole scene unfold before your eyes at the end of the log pointing to the direction of the sunlit space there. It is a peaceful place to wander in and discover and look-see if there is more to find at the end of that light at the right hand side almost middle of the shot...did you go and find out?

That overly dark foreground does look much better at full screen size.

But I'm still not totally happy with the scene.

Just a thought from holding some card against the screen. The left side doesn't add much for me, except cause distraction; but a crop would mean going square. Although with a little bit from the right as well, you might just get away with 4 x 5 ratio as an alternative.

For me, losing the left side seems to give more apparent depth to the scene.

Izzie, thanks and no, I didn't go wander out into the opening, place is overrun with deer and their requisite cuddly ticks.

Geoff, thanks, and I felt the same way, about cropping the left. Wasn't happy when I tried it but I'll try it again and post it up and see how it compares.
