Birch Grove
These birch trees were illuminated by street lights and a spot light at the end of the driveway. Ice was just beginning to form over the pond.
C and C welcome.

Re: Birch Grove
A very nice image, Ali. When I see this type of shot, I often wonder if a flashlight and doing bit of light painting in some of the dark areas might not be something worth trying.

Re: Birch Grove
I would be tempted to try losing a bit of foreground to concentrate more on the trees.
Which would mean a similar amount from the right or a different size ratio; possibly 4 x 5 ratio?

Re: Birch Grove
Thanks for your comments Manfred.
I might try taking this photo again some night. I am waiting for the snow which might help to brighten the dark areas on the ground. I will carry a flash light to try out light painting.

Re: Birch Grove
Hi Geoff,
thanks for commenting. This was the best of the photos I took and I did notice how the horizon is right in the middle of the photo. I thought about cropping it too, but don't like it without the grass in the lower right foreground.

Re: Birch Grove
Matt,
Thanks for commenting. I was drawn to the light on the trees and I got lucky with the sky. It was overcast and there were other bright lights in the background that created that purple sky.
