Desert of Grass
Another image taken from Saturday morning, I'm not sure why I like this image, reminds me of a desert of grass... it just relaxes me.
C&C welcomed, as always...

Nice shot. I think the overall hue makes for the relaxing feeling you describe. I would think that with the angle of the sun as it rises over the hills to the right would give you great lighting to add more texture to the foreground. Did you capture any shots like that? Perhaps a sequence of the same scene as the sun rose?

Re: Desert of Grass
Hi Matt I like the composition. Although it looks empty, it is not empty indeed. Texture in the grass and row of mountains make the image. I'm not sure about the yellow color on the grass though, may be it is a bit too yellow, hay colour (or something a bit less yellow) for the grass might be more suitable.

Re: Desert of Grass
There's enough tone and texture in the picture to support it as an image. Any less and it wouldn't have had any interest. Clever idea.

Looks a bit leaning to the right, Matt -- or my eyes are playing a trick on me so early in the yawning...
P.S. I like your new avatar...

I like the layers in it Matt, I hope you also took some zoomed in more with less foreground to make use of the hill layers.

Re: Desert of Grass
Cheers for the views/feedback.
Binnur; That is not far off the colour of the grass to the eye, its a sort of dead/hay grass and with the sun reflection gave that hue.
Izzie; I think that is the lay of the land (That was a lovely cocktail I'm drinking in my avatar )
Alot more photos Grahame, hope to go through them all on the weekend, but I have a Xmas party on Friday so we'll see how badly hungover I am
