    Diary Cows - C&C welcomed

Wasn't sure if cows should be posted here or in pets. My other image was in pets, but these are really not pets, so decided this was a more appropriate place. This was taken the same day as the other. This was one of the last images before the cold forced me back in the car to head home. yes, I should have increased the ISO; however my hand was not participating willingly at this point.

B&W is not familiar to me, so would appreciate any comments...

Posting location is fine, processing is fine. Not sure if you've captured the whites correctly, then again the day was probably overcast so whites could be muted.

Thanks John. Good point; I brightened them - better?

Either one works for me, but I'm no B&W expert either. It would be nice if "jenkins" would get his ear away from being in front of the other cow's eye, but that would be hard to fix in post, so no bother

I've got a pair of gloves for winter photography coming for Christmas with "texting" slits in the finger and thumb! (if you don't wear gloves, the hand sometimes stops participating in wiggling within a minute or two! )

Thanks Nick. Jenkins is actually a Jenny - they are all girls. I loved their personalities - they were all so friendly.

Yes, I had actually cut the fingers off of a similar pair of gloves I had. Wore those, with a second partial glove over - still too cold. Maybe bring the heated glove next Time to warm them up.

Yes, the brightening did its thing.

I also would like to share my wicked thoughts when I saw the header. A typo is just a typo, not to worry about, but my thoughts strayed to an acquaintance of mine, born in Santiago de Cuba, but presently living in a suburb of Stockholm. Her parents named her something they gathered from a milk powder carton, which they thought looked nice, unknowingly about its meaning. But they distorted it a bit by adding an -s at the end, something peculiar Cubans often do. The s terminating any word is never pronounced. So her name is Dairys. ;-)

Oops, I didn't notice that - sorry about that. Of course it doesn't seem to be something I can edit and correct. Thanks for the story you shared.
