    December Bloom

We winter some of the outside potted geraniums downstairs in front of a large window waiting for spring to come.

Just playing with the new camera, that's how I learn.

It's floating, Jim....I winterized mine too. I let it sit on my kitchen window. I used to collect different kinds of geraniums when I was living full time in Australia. Now I only have two pots left. Beautiful shot, Jim. I like the direction of light here.

Very Nice post. Good light effect. And if you like geraniums, and we have a few around the place here where they thrive and grow into rather large bushes which need to be pruned back, have you not thought of scented pelargoniums? Spitting image of the old geranium but with the added bonus of wonderful scents, especially the lemon scented variety.Mrs ucci, a clever little sausage, plants them beside pathways so that when walk past and brush against them you get the most delicious perfume waft up.
Anyway this is just a suggestion for what it is worth.

    Good result for playing Jim.

You have retained detail and texture well with a good use of DoF so we are not forced to see every part as a razor sharp hard image.

' 'Used to have different scents when I was in Oz. My first one was bought in Safeway and from then on, whenever I take the dog and the kid out for a walk, I have a secateur in my pocket to snip some other varieties from the neighbours who have different ones than mine. I thought I cannot possibly kill them as they grow like weeds no matter how much I neglect watering them but I was wrong. I left for the US, leave youngest son to take care of our house and he managed to kill most of them. Over there you can plant them in any season, here in the US they die in the cold so I only have two pots in my kitchen window that I take out from Spring to Autumn. One day when I really retire, I'd like to go back to my house over there and plant them to my heart's desire...and orchids, lots of orchids my son killed too unfortunately.

Not stupid...but it certainly not in Kansas, Jim -- Oz is shortcut for Australia...
