    Texas Spider but not Texas-sized

Made it's home at the well-house next to the satellite dish. My first flash-assisted bug shot. I liked the colors but had to use flash because it's upside down and back-lit by the sky. Just used the on-camera uncontrollable flash, as is plain to see

    C&C welcome . . .

Nicely captured, sometimes rear-synch works better when you cannot really control the direction of your in-camera flash.

    Thanks John,

    Hi Ted,

It's a flash sync function for the built-in flash. The flash will not fire until immediately before the shutter closes; as opposed to using fill flash.

Aha. No such function on the Sigma SD14 built-in flash.

On their shoe-mount flash model EF-500 they have a function they call "second-curtain sync". A classic Japanese-English statement says (in addition to what you said) "The furrow of the subject will therefore be exposed behind the subject, creating a more natural effect". That caused a few furrows in my brow!
