Black bamboo & tall plants (eventually) a wind break for the next typhoon

I know the plants are short but they will grow and while the bamboo is now green as it matures it turns Midnight Black!

That is exactly how they are intended, as shield. But not for wind nor light. We have a yard that is surrounded by high trees and bamboo so the wind is fairly well blocked as is the sunlight.

This will be our final line of defense against what the wind blows off the trees.
