I tried everything, well almost, to capture this strange fish I saw near the Port of Miami.

I think you will find that's a Garfish John, they tend to swim near the surface and can be eaten, if you can catch them

I've tasted that one before...it is quite good. Depends on how you cook it. The Chinese usually salt and dry them and hang on clotheslines (?) in the sun for days. Nice shot. I think you are successful in getting this one as right as you can...

Hi Nick, thanks for commenting. Yes, it was in partially the ocean, however I believe they consider the area near shore Biscayne Bay..

    Grahame,

Thanks for commenting and the information, Ill do some more research. Doesn't look like much to eat although this one was at least twelve inches long.

    Hi Izzie,

Thanks for the comments and information. So it's a bit like fish jerky, no need to debone?

Some people consider them a delicacy. I ate one once - or tried to. Way too many bones for my liking.

Plenty of bones but one of the sweetest tasting fish in the sea imho.

I cook mine in the pressure cooker so I do not need to worry about bones...
