Helpful Posts: Time is a bit short at the moment but one to keep things rolling. Crummock Water is one of the smaller lakes in Cumbria. Not much colour around but plenty of light and shade - hence the mono.

Looks like a slightly overdone overly sharpened HDR. The potential is there.

I like the tones in this processing, John, but I find the outcrop in the foreground a little too bright.

Hi John, I like the shot. If it was mine I would crop the dark bushes in the FG and leave the rocks only for a less distracting look

Thanks all for the comments. This was one of my attempts to improve my landscape work this year. I'm not there yet.
@William C/Greg - No HDR here (although I do use it occasionally). Fuji lenses are sharp to start with and so I don't generally sharpen deliberately but the point has been made before and I have put it down to the fact that ACR sharpens automatically unless you switch it off. I keep forgetting to. What doesn't help though is that as Greg points out, I did boost the contrast on the FG rocks. I've now applied a bit of Gaussian Blur and reduced the highlights and that has produces a much better result. Thanks for the pointers.
@Binnur - I like the bushes at the base. A comp generally needs weight at the bottom and they do provide it.
