Glimpse of Monument with Birds. C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

In this image, i wanted to show the glimpse of the part of the monument (Qutub Minar Complex, New Delhi) along with the birds which flies a lot in that complex. I have added a negative space to provide a breathing space and to create a visual tension.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame and processing as I have processed 2 versions Sepia ( 3 :2 crop ) and B&W ( 7 : 5 crop).

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

    Version 1: Sepia (3: 2)

Version 2 : B&W added few more pigeons from my other shot and cropped to 7 : 5

Second image looks best to me.

How does it seem in colour? Is the sky too overwhelming then?

I was fearing an excessively blue sky but those multiple shades of grey look good and nicely subtle.

Nicely captured, I would have kept a bit of sky on the right and perhaps shot at a different, possibly lower angle. However, that would be my vision not yours.
