I am very sympathetic. We have a 650 metre gravel driveway, steep in places, and it only takes a couple of thunder storms to wash it away badly.

Brian, I suspect that very few people who have not visited the P.I. can comprehend the deluge of rain that comes along for days on end during the monsoon season. I have lived in and visited many countries in South East Asia and have never seen the equal of the rains in the Philippines...
We used to dread the daily, afternoon deluge in the PI. Rained like crazy and then, the sun would come out and the humidity would actually get worse. But some of the best lightening shows I've ever seen were in the PI. And of course power throughout Olangapo City would go out but that only added to the ambiance.
