New Video Equipment
Reviewing a nice comments about purchasing video equipment, by Manfred posted in 10 May,2013 my new inquiry is: I want to purchase a new video camcorder for my daughter who has 4 yrs. still photo experience and, starting college next year She will be taking photo classes of both kinds, and using this with her studies.
Techknology improving since the previous post, I ask:
In my situation, would the difference from a Panasonic AG-HMG80 to a AG-AC7 be advisable. The latter is HD, lighter in weight, but has a less sensitivity sensor I think. But I do not know how to compare the difference that would exist between a HD and the prior model? I know the first mentioned is of a professional grade. But older... She is currently filming with a Nikon D-90 and wants a boom mic for it to improve her filming. A video camcorder surprise would simply be a totally new tool in her picture bag.

Re: New Video Equipment
Andrew - CiC is primarily a still photo site, although some of the members do work in video as well. I would suggest you look at a video site for direction. One that I find is probably the best on out there is:
http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/
That's where the gurus on both video cameras and / or still cameras used for video hang around. In some ways their forums are some like those at CiC.
