Good one Mark, I'm a sucker for anything to do with sunsets and getting one with action like this is a bonus !

I like the 2nd image, Mark, you have caught a lot detail in the spray around the surfer.

I like them both, Mark. Great light, nice colours. Can I ask what you are using to create the artistic effects in the first image?

cs6 - basic pp. Sharpen, crop, incr orange saturation, convert to 8 bit, apply cs6 filter gallery effect, Nik color fx pro 4 - apply perecptual saturation and add a red gradient filter to the sky. Finally sharpen just the surfer and use the liquify tool to create the artistic waves. Sounds complicated but its pretty easy. It just takes a bit of fiddling around and lots of fun too.

I like #2 better...I can understand that one better. I like the action and the sun hitting water spray very nicely. Love the surf. I missed it badly.

The second one is just fabulous with the silhouette, the action and the spray. The first one is great editing, just not to my taste. Well done.
