Kill the sign on the left either via crop or clone (unless you have one that shows the whole sign as I think it might add to the image if you can see it all) and then try a conversion to black and white
Nicely seen and captured BTW...
The black and white does it for me, Graham. I think you need to clone out the remainder of that sign, though - and maybe the top of the fence post in the middle of the frame too. And before Izzie comes along, the two twigs poking out of frame right also.
I agree with Greg's comments Graham. Most importantly do you prefer the color or black & white?
I don't mind the sign. I can read it! I like the sense of mystery of the bridge seeming to fade to nothing. I prefer the colour version.
You know it's funny, I uploaded this from my iPad but the version I have on my computer is cropped the way this is now and has the twigs on the right cloned out. By preference I think I'd like to leave the person in the yellow raincoat in colour with everything else mono but the editing apps I have on my iPad don't let me do that.
This is a track that leads to one if the viewing areas at the Victoria Falls and when the falls are in full flow as they were here you get very wet, raincoat or no raincoat.

Thank you for your vote of confidence, Greg...I didn't know I was that obvious...
Anyway, that being said, I like your idea of leaving the yellow raincoated person yellow so it will satisfy both masses of those who like the colour version and those that don't...I kinda like the colour version but the sign gets in the way as compared to the B/W that you can actually missed it. You know that sign has to go, Graham...can this be done in Elements? I believe it says that this is your PP software here.
I actually liked the sign because it looks as if someone has already slipped into it because they did not read the earlier one that said beware of the slippery steps
It's also the colour one for me and I'll go with moving the two stray twigs.
Nice concept.
That scene, IMHO, has a lot of potential if it were to be shot straight-on without the people...
then cut the image down the middle to retain the right half of the image, then flip to create
a mirror image, then merge them.
Would be a killer image.
Good eye, Graham. Consider cropping on the right to render a vertical orientation. The walkway leads the eye better for me in a vertical orientation.
Hi Graham I think everybody has different thoughts about the image. I don't like the mostly cropped tree and IMO that sign adds to the scene. I prefer the color version but B&W is nice too. I would just clone the two twigs on the right hand side.
ah the tyranny of distance William. The Victoria Falls are close to 8,000 miles from where I live as the crow flies but this crow has to go via Johannesburg SA so it's even further and highly unlikely I'll ever be back there...sigh.
Thanks Mike, I'll give it a try.
Thanks Binnur and you're right which is why this group is such a great place for feedback and suggestions.
